Hope Partnership Nepal (HPN) launched its first two-week Friendship Trek (FT) in the summer 2009. Utilizing the efforts of eight volunteers from three different countries – USA, Japan and Austria, HPN sponsored two pilot projects and a needs assessment that gathered new information about the ever -changing political, economic and social landscape of Nepal. We met or exceeded all of the objectives we set for the Friendship Trek 2009 prior to deadline. We are on schedule for completing our sizeable media goal:
GOAL 1: Create partnerships with Nepal-focused service organizations

OBJECTIVE: Secure in-kind donation of winter clothing for Children Welfare Centre
OUTCOME: Secured 5 suitcases of winter clothing for Children Welfare Centre
OBJECTIVE: Secure in-kind donation of musical instruments for KJC
OUTCOME: Secured in-kind donations of a viola, saxophone, flute, clarinet, an


instrument repair kit, a mic and a mic stand
OBJECTIVE: Secured funding for 1 to 10 scholarships for promising students at KJC
